This weeks question.
As a woman at the well, you’ll be meeting women who are trying to raise Godly men. These boys they are raising will grow up to marry your daughters or become leaders in your community. What advice would you give to them?
If you are raising boys, what areas concern you most?
If don’t have or haven’t raised boys, what is your concern for boys in today’s culture?
My answer—- We have 3 sons, 1 in heaven, 2 on this earth. The ones here are ages nearly 18 and 9. I take the responsibility of raising sons VERY seriously. But then I take the responsibility of raising all my children very seriously. I think one thing that is neglected in our society is training up sons to be Godly husbands. Jesus refers to our relationships here on earth as a description of our relationship with Him. That should be our first clue of how important it is to Him. A wife is supposed to be so dedicated to her husband that she is willing to LIVE for him and a husband should be so dedicated that he is willing to DIE for her. Yet most men in America have been taught to be selfish and to only think of themselves. “Ya gotta watch out for #1”, is their motto. But that is totally unscriptural. So that is one thing we really promote in our family, the thinking is , “it isn’t about YOU”. In leading a family a man has to be willing to put first and foremost the goal of what is best for the WHOLE family, not just what works for him. If I can teach my sons to hear the Lord’s voice and obey it, then I have succeeded.
Such a beautiful post, thanks for sharing.

Seeing the end product of what we’re putting into the building of our sons now is key. May the Lord grant you your hearts desire in seeing your sons raised up to be men and husbands (if they are to be husbands) who love self-sacrificially.
Blessings

You said: “So that is one thing we really promote in our family, the thinking is , “it isn’t about YOU”. In leading a family a man has to be willing to put first and foremost the goal of what is best for the WHOLE family, not just what works for him. ” I so totally agree.

I also have children awaiting us in Heaven (3) and it does change how we parent our blessings here on earth, doesn’t it? I am so sorry for your loss. {{{hugs}}}
