When you work from home, especially if you work from home, and that also means Mommas caring for their own children, you often overwork. Employees at workplaces take regularly scheduled breaks, but when you are the boss, you often just don’t. I want to encourage you today to not only take a break, but put that on your schedule, like an appointment, a very important one. Trust me, in the end, you will get more done.
First off think for a minute, what is the most stressful time of your day? Schedule a break about 30 to 60 mins prior to that time. And if you need 2 short breaks then do that. Your break should be 10- 20 minutes. Plan it out, the time, the location, and relaxing activity such as sitting, walking, humming, praying, whatever you find rest in. Plan a drink or mini snack, but this is not mealtime if there is a special treat that is very simple then plan that. At your appointed time, set everything down and walk away. Do whatever relaxes you and unwind. My favorite spot is my front porch with a cup of coffee, where I am currently waiting for the flowers to bloom 🙂 .
By adding a break to your schedule, you will be more productive and actually get more done. And if your day includes anything that requires creativity, guess what? Giving your body and mind just a few minutes of rest makes that creativity flow.
Try it for one week and tell me how much it has helped 🙂 .
and .. your thoughts?
