I am really blessed to get an early preview and write reviews for some amazing movies. This one, Like Arrows, was especially great because it is all about my passion and calling, motherhood and parenting. I personally consider it an honor to raise children for the Lord, and I hope after I am long gone that calling is what I was known for. Not that I have done it perfectly but that I have poured my whole heart into it. So, all that said, this movie really hits home. Right from the beginning Jesus and His timing are right in the front and center.
As with most folks the main characters have tons of questions about parenting and also a good amount of fear, Will I be a good parent? Can I do this? HOW will I do this? And as one of the characters points out, they do have instructions, it is all given to us in the Bible.
We are not to raise perfect people, but rather ones who KNOW and love the perfect one ~ Penny Raine
And yet that is not done by preaching or instruction, it is done best by example, by living it, by giving God Glory and by repentance when we do wrong. By giving forgiveness as well as receiving it.
All of these things and more are shown in this movie. And as with every Kendrick brothers movie, you will not be disappointed. Oh, and bring tissues. Especially if you cry at redemption movies.
Children are the living messages we send forth to a time we will not see
