How do you deal with dissapointments? As in relationships with friends and family members? We live in such a self centered society that all most folks think about is themselves. I see it and it hurts. It hurts to see them blind to things that are valuable. It hurts to see them living shallow lives when God has so much more for them. It hurts to have the Lord’s heart. It hurts to love people who only want to hurt you and show how much better they think they are. And it hurts to be misunderstood. Why does Jesus put up with us? You know He went to the cross KNOWING that most would still reject Him. He suffered for people He loves to give them life they don’t even realize they need and from all appearances they don’t even want. Why? You know sometimes I watch people I know are ignoring Him and they seem so happy. I know it is only on the outside, but they make it look so good. Yet here I am miserable feeling the pain Jesus feels over their lives. I know that is intercession and of course I know to pray, and pray I do. And weep I do. And yet they are the ones who appear to have such a happy-go-lucky lifestyle. And I am like the weeping prophet Jeremiah. I wonder, do they ever weep? Do they realize the shallowness of their walk with the Lord? Do they realize life is but a vapor? We are not promised tomorrow. There is no making up lost time with God. Is God’s Kingdom really this serious? Is it truly eternal life or death?
deep thinking for a monday morning huh?
Mondays are good days for deep spiritual thinking. Most people don’t even remember what happened at church the day before!
We adopted “amendment J.O.Y” around our hosue. When we are facing a situation we think of Jesus first, Others next, Yourself last. It is something that helps us to handle those ‘disappointments’ one by one.
