Gender: Masculine Usage: Scandinavian, German Pronounced: GOO-stahf (German) [key] |

Means “staff of the Goths”, derived from the Old Norse elements Gautr “Goth” and stafr“staff”. This name has been borne by six kings of Sweden, including the 16th-century Gustav I Vasa. |
Hmm. so what do you think that means? Well from further study, I get a meaning that means something like, the power or leadership of “man” or “humanness”. More specifically the “flesh or carnal nature”. Some would say the dark side of man.
Soo, hmmm. Prophetically what I get out of ‘Gustav is headed for New Orleans” is that God is saying, “I have shown you the way, but you refuse to take head, if you want to live by the flesh you will die by the flesh” Which is really true for all of us whether a storm is headed our way or not. Because the wages of sin is death.
God will not be mocked. Folks cannot shake their fist at God through their behavior, as seen at Mardi Gras and not expect something to happen. Whether the storm hits or not, this is still another warning, a spanking from a loving Daddy. He disciplines those whom He loves. And He loves us all regardless of our behavior. It was while we were still sinners that Jesus died for us. For too long there have been those who have cried, and prayed and interceded for the folks of New Orleans, and God is not deaf. He hears those pleas, He answers. It is true that you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink, but you can also salt his oats and make him see his need for that water. The Lord loves us so much that even though we have our free will He will show us our need for Him, for salvation. And He is long-suffering, He will show us over and over again, throughout many generations. He has time. But each of us has a beginning and an end. What we do with it is up to us.
As for me and my house…. we will live for the Lord. And pray for the eyes of the lost to opened.
and .. your thoughts?
