As I have shared before we live in an 1800’s farm house. I am not fanatical about houses, I like an old fashioned country look but about a million things take priority over house decorating around here, unless I can do it for free 🙂 . But then we will gather things (especially that we get for free) and stash them until we get in a remodeling mood and then bring it out of the storage barn and whalah! all of a sudden a new look. For awhile now we have been needing to do some changes in the main downstairs bathroom, like necessary changes. So we figured while we are at it, we might as well rip out everything and do it like we want. I really want a claw foot bathtub, and I know if I am patient I will get one, but I tend to be a penny pincher so I want one at a reasonable or free price I have a dear friend willing to give me one but it needs to be picked up in MI, and I haven’t been able to work that out yet. Anybody going to MI anytime soon, that wants to bring me my bathtub back to TN? Anyway and I think hubby is going to build a vanity that looks like an antique dresser. And we have extra hardwood flooring. So really all we need is some sweat, which we have, and maybe some new paint, hmm. I was looking at a magazine site today, that is where I get ideas, and found an online paint program that can show what a new bathroom looks like in any color. You can see it here. I will have to put this on my home remodeling/restoring site.

We also live in an 1800’s house (original part built in 1874). While it is a money pit (as far as remodeling) it is also a labor of love, as the house has six generations of our family history in it. But it does sometimes get discouraging when you delve into a project and find out it is going to be much much harder than you planned (four layers of flooring under the bathroom, for instance. Rotten floor joists, etc.) But how I love planning for the “someday” look! I have remodeled every room in our house a hundred times in my mind — trying to keep both the traditional/country/victorian look but also make it very livable for family. Someday…….

I would love to live in something like that! My Daddy is a carpenter,so I grew up hearing about building and such. We always lived in a Mobile home though. Sounds fun!
By the way, you’re family is just beautiful!
