“At the end of the day this is very simple. Do your constituents want their tax money going to kill unborn babies, it’s as simple as that. You have to ask yourself that question. Do more innocent unborn babies die or do we take a stand today, this evening, in this chamber, in the people’s House, to say no to tax payer funded abortions? We have a chance to do something monumental tonight. At the end of the day, the tax payers of this state do not want tax payer funded abortions. We have a chance tonight to set a standard, to draw a line in the sand and say no to taxpayer funded abortions.”

East Tennessee Lawmaker Makes Passionate Case Resulting in
Lopsided Passage, 70-23, of HB 2681Rarely has a legislator so clearly and passionately defined abortion as did state Representative Matthew Hill during Monday evening’s historic debate on abortion funding and the recently passed federal health care exchanges.
Making Tennessee’s state House the first to pass a ban on inclusion of abortion as a funded benefit in the new exchanges, a bi-partisan majority joined Hill is passing legislation, 70-23, which specifically makes clear that Tennessee’s exchange will not include abortion.

AMEN AMEN AMEN!!!! Go Tennessee!! What a great state.
I already know how my New York representatives voted. 🙁 Those poor, poor little babies…
I also hear that TN is one of the states standing up against federal gun laws. God bless you all. As far as I am concerned, NYS has not been the Empire State in a long, long time…. not unless it’s the example of how to do everything WRONG. Still, the fields are white with harvest here. *sigh*
