Most store bought deodorants these days contain harmful chemicals. Anytime we can make our own soaps and beauty products we usually end up saving money, and benefiting from a much healthier product. Homemade deodorant is very simple to make and can be made using any scent you like, without the harmful chemicals. It works just as well if not better.
The baking soda and corn starch can be purchased anywhere, along with an inexpensive Coconut oil. We use the Tropical Traditions Gold Label Coconut Oil and really like it. It is more expensive but also has a nice coconut smell. Especially with the coconut smell the extra scents are not necessary. It is all a matter of preference.

Sounds interesting! I have just one problem – I’m allergic to coconut anything – would there be an alternative “recipe” w/o any coconut? Just wondering.

you could maybe try olive oil, but use less and it wouldn’t get as solid 🙂
