Tiger Woods apologizes Friday in Florida for his numerous extramarital affairs. from CNN
Well, one way or another we have heard it. We don’t have TV and I really didn’t want to watch it online. But I did read the transcript, which was probably better anyway, no emotions. He is not someone I follow but when a crisis of that sort that causes everyone’s head to turn happens I take notice. Why? Because it presents ministry opportunities. I was not let down here. Even though from what I hear Mr woods claims that Buddism will solve his problems and we know that is not true, what I am impressed with is the he ADMITS he has problems. Wow, in this day and age that is a new concept for many. He is only one in a million who has been unfaithful, yet most make excuses and sweep it under the rug. Then they die and America makes a hero out of them. Go Figure. What a warped society we live in. “Hail the hero, forget the truth” is the motto of many.
Yet today things were different. A man repented. Publically. Now I don’t know if it was sincere or not, but what I am extremely impressed by was the fact that someone, either Mr. Woods, or his PR staff, someone saw the need for it. Yes take note America, unfaithfullness and adultery are WRONG! No excuses, no reasons, wrong as wrong gets.
Thank you Mr Woods for speaking up. Now may I share a bit of truth with you? Jesus is the only one who has the ability to forgive and save your soul. He can erase that guilt. He can make things new. Only Jesus.

Although we would like to beleive this was repenting, it’s most likely Woods publicist’s attempt to save him $450 million dollars and guilt his wonderful wife into returning to him. Sad, but true.

I didn’t see it or read it, but I heard about it. There have been many times when a celebrity did things for which he could have and should have apologized but did not. I hear it at least sounded sincere so I give him credit for that. I think it not only was a good business decision but a good decision over all. Whether or not he was sincere, is for his wife to decide. It is possible for him to get help for his problems outside of Almighty God, but it isn’t possible for him to gain salvation anywhere else. For that I pray for him and for his family.

FINALLY! A blog post with truth about the matter!!! Yay!
We don’t have TV, either, and I feel much the same way as you do.
I hope he sincerely WANTS to get things right (and not just to get things better). That’s the first step in recognizing what the Savior can do. Blessed are the poor in spirit…
