Next week the local GM plant will close. Thousands in this small community will lose their jobs. The county here is much bigger than when the plant which was a Saturn plant at that time was built, but it is sill a small community compared to big city areas. The population of the entire county is estimated at 81,938. That is still pretty small for a county. The plant closing here will affect every family one one way or another in the entire county and those surrounding it. Some folks will feel fear and despair. But I am a rebel at heart. In a good way :). As my way of rebelling against the spirits of despair and worry, I am first of all giving away my Making the Holidays Family Friendly ebook because I know what you sow is what you reap. Look for the announcement Friday. Giving is a good thing to sow. I also will be posting several scriptures and thankful testimonies over the next few days. If you would like to join in and even share something here I would love to hear about it!

Amen, Penny….as you know from knowing me personally, our “recession” started about 10 years ago now, when my husband came home to his pregnant wife and said, “I lost my job” just a few months after we bought a house and moved because of said job. The job he found in replacement was 1/3rd his normal income. I was not a happy camper. However, though it all, and it’s a long, long story…but through it all, God has worked in our lives, and shown us that sometimes His provision is extra funds, but sometimes it’s the GRACE to trust Him for our DAILY bread, and to gather our manna one day at a time. We are now “up to” about 1/2 of that original income…though the income seems to be going back in reverse again (things got much worse after that “stimulus” thing in terms of the economy in our area)…but God has provided for us through other sources, and has just blessed us over and over again. Woo hoo. He’s so good…and He’s coming back soon…closer every day.
