twitter, social media, Obama fly-over NY

When I get online in the morning with my cup of coffee before just about anyone else is up, I have my routine pages I check. Email. Blogs. CNN is usually in there somewhere. But that isn’t where I get my news from. I might get some news from there but it is usually a day late and a dollar short. Twitter is way ahead of them. In case you have been vacationing on Mars,  I will tell you about Twitter. Twitter is a social media site where you can get up to the minute info. From folks who are wherever things are happening.

Yesterday the plane referred to as “Air Force 1”  when the pres is on board took a little joyride through the NY skyline as a publicity photo stunt. Somebody is going to be in big trouble. But the big news is that is was NOT big news until hours after I heard about it on Twitter. 

Twitter and other social media sites are finally giving us freedom of speech in the news dept. Twitter is kind of like the old fashioned party line, and boy does news travel fast. The news folks are really seeing and hearing. Not just the news the liberal media makes money from.

So I say all of that to say, if you have something to say, say it on twitter. You can “follow” like minded folks and find out anything from national news to who has the best price on ground beef this week to “when to plant tomatoes?” Sometimes with some rambling in between. If you care to hear me ramble, you can follow me on twitter here.   I might be talking about our newest calf or colt, or I could be talking about something that will turn into a later article. It might be interesting or it might not, but it won’t be old news. Twitter Works for Me This Wed
