I have shared before that we don’t watch TV, as in TV reception, we don’t have an antenna, cable or satellite TV. We do however have a DVD player. We choose what is played rather than just sitting down and letting some advertising company tell us what we should watch. We get movies from various places, occasionally redbox although they rarely have anything acceptable, and we have a Netflix membership which is great but you have to weed through so much junk to find the good stuff. So I’m doing something new. Getting movies from Christian Cinema .
Their membership works similar to Netflix but they have better movies that are easier to find. Not as many as Netflix, but then most of the ones at Netflix are not acceptable for family viewing anyway. And if you can keep a secret I will tell you what I am getting my soon to be 17 yr old daughter for her birthday. SSSHHHH.
I am going to put this in the antique trunk we got yesterday to be used as a hope chest. Fun huh? Need I remind y’all we have 5 yes count them FIVE daughters, that is a whole lot of hope around here, and a whole lot of love. Can you tell I dearly love my children?
Oh and I think there is a new Love Comes Softly DVD soon I will have to look that up… hmmm.. I will let you know.

I hadn’t heard of this company before thanks for sharing. Nice to know there is a better option than Netflix.
We have 5 sons & 1 daughter. Our oldest is 15 so, I have a little time before he gets married.

Thanks for the info! We have actually liked Netflix for the wide range of documentaries and biographies we have been able to find. We were able to see Fireproof right when it came out on DVD that way too. But another alternative is great too! Never heard of them before. Thank you!

Love Comes Softly (and the whole series) is a favorite in this household! We own all of them except the most recent with Belinda learning to be a doctor. We love it! How exciting! Yeah, Redbox is a huge disappointment, even in the childrens’ selections (or should I say, especially)

I haven’t used this service, but we do like Netflix. I really have been happy with some older films I’ve found on there. I have liked the Love comes Softly series too, but after a while I find it a bit depressing…
We just rented a Christian film called the Timechanger. It was a little cheesy but the message was awesome. I highly recommend it.

We invested in a ClearPlay DVD Filter. We too, do not have an cable TV. We rent, actually always using FREE codes at the Redbox, and with the ClearPlay DVD Player, we get all the filth taken out of the movies. So many movies have a good plot or theme but Hollywood ads so much garbage to it, it becomes something we as Christians cannot watch. ClearPlay has been a great investment….www.clearplay.com
P.S. Timechangers is a great movie, really makes you see how desensitized we have become!
