Some extra family friendly ideas
Be sure to bring a camera or video camera and put it in the hands of someone gifted in that area.
Let one or two of your children who can read and write be interviewers. Give them a pad and pencil. Have them interview extended family you don’t see often.
Appoint a family scribe to write down notable moments and topics of conversation throughout the day.
Bring pictures of your family to share with distant relatives or older folks. Be sure to write names on the back of them.
Remember that our life here on earth is like a vapor, here today and gone tomorrow. Cherish you time with your loved ones.
Use the opportunity to share God’s love with unsaved guests.
Be kind and loving to young people who might bring along “friends” even if the relationship is one you do not approve of.

One thing I wish I had done when my father-in-law was still with us is to record some of the old tales he loved to share.
Papaw used to tell some good ones and my husband and I can’t remember them all to tell to our children.
