Welcome back to The Well. It is great to “see” everyone again! Today Lisa over at A Second Generation of Homeschooling is our host today. She has chosen a great topic:
Arise and Shine: Being an Exceptional Mother in the Midst of the Ordinary
She poses the following questions to us:
1. What daily tasks seem mundane or monotonous to you?
2. How can we change our outlook when completing these tasks?
3. What impact do these tasks have on our husband and children? How does it make a difference in their lives?
4. Is it okay to focus on earthly recognition when completing these tasks for our loved ones, or is receiving an eternal reward sufficient? What does Jesus think is more important? Should that be our focus, as well?
I think contenetment is the key. Do we see value in Mothering? Because once we realize the value in what we do, even changing diapers is a Holy Task. I remember way back when my 3 oldest were really little. They were begging for more lunch faster than I could serve seconds, I finally shouted, “what am I your servant?”
Whoa, that got God’s attention. And you know what He said? He said, “If you cannot serve these little children who look just like you, what makes you think you can serve me?” Now I like straightforward talk so that was right up my alley. And I saw His point. And anytime in the last 17 years I have even thought about complaining I have intsantly been reminded of His words. It is an honor to serve my children. It is an honor to serve God. I hope they all know how much I love them. I think they do

Ouch! Do you hand out bandages after you step on toes? LOL Wow, I needed that kick in the behind today!
yeah michelle, his words kick me too, but it says that he diciplines those he loves, so feel loved 🙂
