My Frugal Friday post today falls right in line with Crystal’s. I am all about being a good steward of the money God has given us, but even more important is being a good steward of the TIME He gives us. To me, time is more valuable than money. Much more valuable. all of us have a value on our time. Your value on your time depends on the commitments the Lord has given you, not the ones you have given yourself. We have several children at home that we homeschool and one that is married and expecting. My time is vry valuable because there are several demands on it at this season in my life. I do not have time to do some of the things a single woman would or even one with 1 child. That does not mean I am more valuable, just that my time is. You see value depends on demand. If there is 1 banana in your county and 100 people want it, it is more valuable than if there were 100 bananas and 1 person wanting them. That is your economics lesson for the week 🙂 .
So, I say all of that to say, don’t get caught up in what others with less valuable time are caught up in. And also I ay that when you have more time than demands it is wise to plan for when your time is more in demand. Goodness, does any of that make sense? I recently had a conversation with someone who always tries to distract mr from my main purpose in life, who was telling me, you need to do this to save money and you need to do that. All very time consuming I finally just told them, THAT is not my priority right now.
Anyway the moral of this rambling story? Keep the main thing the main thing. Jesus is the main thing. Serving our families is of utmost importance. I read the other day about a woman who took her dear little children all over town trying to find a good deal on something that was unnecessary. Let me tell you, children under the age of 4 can only be expected to behave for 3-4 stops at the most. So don’t waste all of your gas and wear your little children out to save 5o cents. Your time is more valuable than that.
Ok, I m done preaching now.

Your post was very interesting and a good lesson. I’m at the stage in my life where I do not have the demands of family I did when I was younger so my time is more free. When I was younger, my family always came first, my parenting duties and my role as wife. And as you so wisely pointed out, Jesus is always the main thing.
