from my friend Phyllis Wheeler at Motherboardbooks.com her braand new book “Let’s Make a Web Page”
Is your child, aged 8 to 12, curious about the Internet? Through this 60-page E-Book, Computer Lady Phyllis Wheeler takes him by the hand and shows him how to make a Web site using easy-to-use software CoffeeCup HTML Editor, available for free trial download over the Internet.
Phyllis Wheeler guides your child through interviewing someone, writing up a paragraph, and pasting it into a Web page. Your child can find and choose backgrounds, animations, photos, and sounds to add to the page. She shows how to create links, too.
Finally, she teaches your child how to make the Web page the “home page” on his family computer. When someone opens up a browser, the page will pop up automatically. Separate sections for parents discuss Internet safety and how to upload to the Internet.
This E-Book will give your child hours of fun. He can go through the E-Book again and again, making different creations every time.
Take a look at Phyllis’s site and come back to tell me in a comment how this would benefit YOUR family!

Our oldest would love to learn more about computers and I’m over my head trying to teach him. This would be a blessing to both of us!

This would be perfect for my kids. I’m a homeschooling mom of six and I’ve been thinking about using web pages and blogs as an educational tool lately. This looks great! 🙂

Hi!
This would help us both… as we ordered coffee cup as a freebie for educators a year or so ago. I havnt been able to figure it out and Dustynne (who is my techie gal with most things), has been frustrated by it as well. We are trying to raise money for a DP for her braces (still, sigh) and w/ still fighting health stuff…well, I haven’t been as diligent as I would have liked to have been… too much brain fog to figure these things out very readily… I was hoping to get this up and going again this week… (have a bit started) but need to switch over to a cheaper server or the blogs. We would love to utilize coffe cup and this would give us the help we have been needing!… so, I am hoping to win ! 🙂
