Ok, I know I am really behind. I here there is some big news about tv sets now having to be digital? But you know what? I don’t care. You know why? Because we have lived without tv reception for umm, yep, 15 years. Do you believe it? Is it possible? why would anybody do such a thing? No satelitte tv, no cable, no antenna, no tv reception. We choose to only watch things that can be turned off for discussion, or fast forwarded. Used to be vhs, now it is dvd. And you know what else, it hasn’t hurt us one bit, go figure 🙂 . We are however blessed with a netflix membership. However even that has been on hold for some time. We just ran out of good movies on our cue, so we put it on hold. So, I am calling all folks with movie recommendations to speak up. I would love a list to check out. Please leave me a comment with some of your family favorites. If you don’t already have a netflix membership, you can get a free trial here,

When I moved into my own apartment in ’99 I didn’t have a TV on purpose. Everyong thought I was nuts. Especially my dad. Someone gave me a small TV to borrow, and it sat in the closet, only coming out when I was sick in bed and had no one to keep me company. I’d borrow a bunch of VHS’s and bide my time until I was healthy again. We haven’t had TV reception ever since. Just videos. And you know what? We don’t miss it at all. In fact, when we go to a hotel or something we’re totally shocked by how much TV has changed. Even the commercials are distastful that I have to change the channel in shock! I can’t imagine sitting in front of that on any regular basis!!! People who come stay with us for a while usually go through a two-day withdrawl. The more TV they watch, the more they comment on our lack of one. We don’t even notice. And it’s no loss. 😉

Good for you, Penny! People always ask me how I do what I do. I have come to the conclusion that not watching TV is the reason I have the time to do what I do.
Have you seen Amazing Grace? It’s on Netflix.
Penny says
Yes, Jeanie, we actually purchased that one. It is a little too graphic for the younger ones, so it is one of our “after 9” movies. Even at that it has to have a point and this one did. I really liked it.

My nickname is momatpeace over there. If you become my netflix friend — you can see my queue… 391 movies in it right now. AND… there are some you can “watch right now” for free. Sometimes I’ll do a cartoon for the kiddos and they can watch it on the lap top. Rarely… but you know… if you are ever in the mood.
I got the CBD catalog and another christian DVD catalog and start searching, adding all their movies listed in my queue. Netflix has an amazing amount of good movies. Hooray!!
Then I’ve started networking with folks like you and found more obscure neat movies from recommendations from friends. Ü
Sometimes they aren’t so great — like Cloverfield… or what ever that movie was. I got it from a recommendation from a guy off of the radio — GAG!! What’s nice about that?? I can leave a review or a comment to my friends — tell them to NOT WASTE THEIR TIME. LOL
Can’t wait to see you as a friend.

I love to hunt through Netflix to find the hidden gems. Clean, wholesome, and funny movies. Many times, they are classics.
