For my tackle it Tuesday post I am continuing my mean on clean week. I have a lady coming from my freecycle group tonight who wants all my junk! Imagine that! I even told her it was junk and she still wants it! So I am weeding through more stuff to make sure she gets her gas monies worth. Toys today, we are onto toys. Are we the only family who has a wonderfully organized looking house but have hidden areas where things are stashed? Ahh come on, tell the truth. Well God’s word tell us that everything that is hidden will be found and well since God knows about my junk, I need to deal with it. I will share with you why I struggle with getting rid of stuff. We have a wonderful elderly neighbor who is a wealth of wisdom. There is value in that alone but he also has everything you could ever imagine needing. I like to be like that. If my daughter needs a 12″ white zipper, or my son needs a paintbrush or someone needs a weird something or other, the thought having thrown that out last week puts my head into a spin. No I am not old enough to have grown up in the depression, but I despise waste. So I struggle somewhere between being a really good steward and being a packrat. And days like yesterday prove the value of my thinking. Stuff I had stashed in the storage shed was like a dream come true to my decorating homemaker Hannah. She found antique things that I loved but others would have thrown out, and given enough neat stuff she creates the most wonderful settings. She could be one of those TV decoraters that can redecorate your home to look like it belongs in a magazine using only stuff she finds in your garage, or in our case, barn. But, alas we have too much stuff, the barns are overflowing, so here I go, more decluttering. While I am working hard Georgia is making homemade ice cream, and Beau is cutting hay, nice day in the country.
