We do not do big holidays around here. We don’t celebrate things the way the world does, we instead choose to celebrate Jesus everyday. It is a foreign thought to me to celebrate his birth once a year and his death and resurrection once a year, those are events I celebrate daily. And the holidays that aren’t focused around Jesus aren’t much of a holiday in my opinion. We do fellowship and have big family meals but as for gift giving we pretty much save that for birthdays. and birthdays are big days around here. I strive everyday to give attention to all of my children no matter what I am doing. But there are some who are more patient and less needy than others. And I try real hard as a mother to make sure they don’t slip between the cracks in the midst of busyiness. So especially on birthdays I focus on that priority, even though we have several birthdays close together. Even if I don’t have a bunch to spend we try to come up with a God-idea for a special day. For Hannah, it was a picnic. For the others different ideas, but for everyone, it was something that meant something to them. Remember to take time to celebrate your childrens lives. There are few things that matter more.
