It is Wednesday and Shannon at Rocks in my Dryer wants to know what works for me.
Well, the wedding plans are moving right along. But you know me I have to write a book about everthing I am doing! That is until I realize someone else already has written everything I know. Well, I don’t know about that, but I did find one with lots of good info, lots of really good info. And it was a “try it for 30 days” kinda thing, so I figured I couldn’t go wrong. The first tip of hers was about finding a wedding photographer. She said if you advertise for one on Craigslist, you will get offers to shoot the wedding for free if they can add your pictures to their portfolio. Well I put in a free ad, stating what I wanted, didn’t say it had to be free, but that it was the preacher’s daughter getting married in a church and it had to be tasteful AND affordable. I have gotten at least 25 offers so far, most of which have a wonderful Christian testimony and some are free. Now that works for me!

As a wedding photographer myself, just one word of warning. Sometimes you get what you pay for. On the other hand when I was portfolio building and did wedding really cheap like that, I never bombed a shoot. 🙂
