It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. Lamentations 3:22-24
This picture was taken the day after the flood, better than a rainbow if you ask me. 🙂
The purpose of Word filled Wednesday is to share God’s word (no famous quotes or other literature — only the beautiful word of our Father) through photo’s & a Bible verse!
I am happy to be hosting “Word Filled Wednesday” for Amy at the 160 acre woods

Sweet Penny….oh, how I am praying for your community! Here in Cedar Rapids, we experienced the 2008 flood and it was (is) horrible….people still displaced 2 years later. But, yes, how God works through difficult times! And, YES,thank You, Jesus, that Your love and mercy are new every morning! I can’t wait to hear about all of the miracles God will work through this difficult trial! I know God “works ALL things (even floods) together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.” Thanks for sharing, Sister!

It is hard not to jump for joy when you see water like that and you have to remind yourself of the devastation. For us rain is such a joy after the drought that no one seems to moan much about a little flooding. But yours is not little…..thankful you are safe.

Penny,
This brings back such memories from the fall when the floods devastated areas of metro Atlanta. Our church and UMCOR put together a website that shows how to make a “flood bucket” that can be distributed to those in need with supplies necessary for clean up….we couldn’t make them fast enough. It was a wonderful service project for groups and churches wanting to help…thought I’d pass it along..

I pray it helps those in Nashville…

Your verse is similar to mine, but for different reasons. We were in Virginia last week and when I saw the news I started praying for everyone who were in the flood areas. I have friends and family there and evidently they are all right because I haven’t heard anything drastic from anyone. Yes, God’s faithfulness is new every morning.

Isn’t it amazing how beauty can shine through tragedy? I am fairly new to blogging and this is the first I have heard of “WordFilled Wednesdays”. I’ll definitely be joining in next week! Praying for Nashville and all affected by the recent weather… I grew up near Nashville and still have family there, seeing the devastation has been heartbreaking. It has been amazing to me as well to see people pull together.
