Why is it that the seasons come upon us all of a sudden? And even though they are at the same time every year, it seems we are never ready? I mean just yesterday (actually last week) we were in the thick of summer and now the leaves are starting to fall. And the days are getting shorter. This is one of my favorite pictures from our farm. It is actually part of my view. I love barns, I don’t know why, but I love barns, probably because they represent the harvest.
Barns represent storehouses both in the physical sense and in the spiritual sense.
Everybody has something stored up in their barn.
Matthew 13:30
Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’ “
So, what is in your barn? Weeds, representing bitterness and un-forgiveness and unhealed hurts? Or wheat, representing love, joy and peace? Or is it just cobwebs of past memories? I will give you a helpful hint, Jesus can not only clean your barn but He can fill it with good things. He is the Lord of the Harvest.
How’s that for wordless and Word-Filled?
be blessed on this beautiful Wednesday!
The purpose of Word filled Wednesday is to share God’s word (no famous quotes or other literature — only the beautiful word of our Father) through photo’s & a Bible verse! You can join myself and others at the Internet Cafe Devotions !
note- this is a repeat not because I didn’t have anything to say but because it spoke to me again, isn’t God good??
Really nice.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture!! And the post!
Thanks for sharing!
Happy WFW!
Penny, I love the analogy you’ve used in your post. May we each continue to yield to his cleansing that our barns may overflow with goodness.
You could use this every week and I would never grow tired of it. Thank you!
