Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. …. John 11:14
What does it say to wash someone’s feet? It is a symbolic act of service yes, but there is so much more. To me it says, “walk straight, stay clean, get the mud off of ya, the mud of the world, and here I am to help you” . Encouraging one another is not just giving a compliment. It is imparting courage to do the right thing. To walk the right walk. Telling someone that they are doing a great job when they are about 5 miles off the straight and narrow road is like burying them in mud.
Friends don’t throw mud at each other, they wash each others feet . We are all in this together.
Hey Penny,
This was really good. I liked your thoughts on this scripture.
Are those your horses?
Hope you had a blessed day today? 😛
thank you, yes they are ours, we have lots 🙂
A well spoken word. Thanks so much for sharing!
So true. I just love seeing how you folks live out there in the country. Seems such a peaceful life.
I think many are afraid to say what needs to be said because they don’t know how to say it well. So they say it not. That’s part of why I teach communication skills. So many things can be said in a way that won’t hurt or will be effective. We just have to know how to say the words they need to hear.
Thanks for this post, Penny. What an encouragement. Thanks for washing my feet today 🙂
