If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8
What does this mean? Well unbelievers provide in the sense of a roof over their heads and food on the table, so it doesn’t mean that. Any old joe can have a job, that doesn’t mean he is better than an unbeliever. It means more, it means doing what an unbeliever could not do. It means providing in the spiritual sense. It means praying for them and teaching them to pray. It means leading them into study and worship. It means providing for them eternally.
