My Simple Woman’s Daybook For Today… Dec 1, 2008
Outside my Window… It is snowing! But it is also drizzling typical for where we live, we often get a snowy, sleety mix. Now it is snowing good.
I am thinking… That I have alot to do and hoping I keep my internet connection, can be a problem in this weather.
I am thankful for… my woodstove, and the deer in the freezer
From the kitchen… I hear nothing, everyone is sleeping in, but I smell coffee.
From the learning rooms… all quiet at the moment, will be bustling soon
I am wearing… my cozy fleece nightgown
I am reading… l have the book “Boomtown” sitting here waiting to be reviewed but I also need to read some other things, I think I will read Phillipians first
I am hoping… that I get everything I have planned done today, and that I can pay bills this week
I am hearing… peace and quiet
I am creating… another book soon
Around the house… things are in order, thanks to Hannah who straightened up before going o bed last night
One of my favorite things… my laptop at the moment
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… I have lots to do, lots of writing
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you… my farm house before snow

LOVE your farmhouse. I always figured I would live in an old farmhouse but married a city guy and even though I don’t have a farmhouse I have a prince.
Blessings!!

Your house looks almost identical to the one we lived in before moving to WV. We had no porch, just four steps in front and four by the side door. We also had a big tree to the left of the driveway, in almost the exact same proximity to the house as your big tree there. Ours was a black walnut.
Instead of having three windows like you, we had two very large windows upstairs and two downstairs. One of the downstairs windows measured 96″ across!
Some day I’ll find someone with a scanner, and I’ll scan one of our old house pictures to send to you. We had a wood stove too, and while I do miss the heat, I’ll never miss the soot, the bark, or needing to open the windows in January because my husband got carried away with fire-building. Lol! Enjoyed your entry 🙂

Ours has another whole section off of the back. where the back is now was the original part of the house, more like a cabin probably, built in 1830 so they say. Then the two story part built onto it in 1860. Later the original part was taken off and the addition that is now a large family room, country kitchen, hall, bathroom and two porches added on. The older two story part is sturdier but the newer part has lots of windows. It needs work but we do a little at a time. The woodstove heats the whole house, it is the only heat source we have. The house is built up next to a hill with a creek so it stays cool in the summer, there is no AC. But we have several ceiling fans. We have spring water. It is home.
Your home is so beautiful! My husband and I hope to one day own a farmhouse & farm!
Isn’t the snow & sleet disappointing?? I wish the snow would stick!!
I also am thankful for our deer in the freezer! My hubby killed 2 this weekend and that helps our grocery budget so much!
Have a wonderful week!

Love your house!
My two favorite types of houses are log cabins and farmhouses. 🙂
We, too have been blessed with deer meat recently. There are a lot of hunters in the area and they usually kill more than they can eat.
One friend of ours killed four and donated two to Hunters for the Hungry and gave some of the other two to three other families in the area. 🙂

Your day is the kind of day I’d like to have – your farmhouse looks wonderful, and it must be nice and cozy with the woodstove…
