On this Frugal Friday I have a reminder for you.
time=money
For each of us our time is worth different amounts, it depends on what season of life you are in. In some seasons we have more money, in other seasons we have more time. Let me give you an example. Say your hubby is a professional who makes $40 per hour. And he needs a job done that he could do himself or pay a local neighbor boy $20 for the whole day. Say it is raking all the leaves. Would it make sense for the $40 per hour guy to take off work to rake leaves? Not in the economic sense. But then again, if he were to do it with his wife and little children and they all had the time of their lives and sat on the porch drinking hot cocoa when done then yes.
The problem is we all too often let outside sources determine the value of our time, when it should be us to determines it. The newer your marriage is and the younger your children are the more your time is worth.
For me since having children, time is worth much more than money, and I have had times of lots of money and times of not much money. So I can compare fairly. I am glad I have made the choices to value time. My rewards are incredible children.
