So it has been announced that Sarah Palin will be running in the VP position for the republicans. Hmm. Who is Sarah Palin? Well at first glance this is what I see, age 44, been married for 20 years to her one and only, 5 yes count them 5 children, one who was diagnosed in utero with Downs Syndrome (and she didn’t abort, major brownie points from me). Their oldest child is in the army and the youngest is but 5 months old. Wikipedia says she is a Christian and affliated with the assemblies of God. Hmmm, she is all about real honest government. And she is a lifetime member of the NRA. All that sounds wonderful, but what matters to me, is politically how does she stand on abortion. Because anyone who thinks it is ok to kill babies is out of their mind, absolutely out of their mind.
Well this in from http://thinkprogress.org/2008/08/29/palin-picked/
Palin is anti-choice and is a member of an “anti-abortion group called Feminists for Life.” In 2002, when she was running for lieutenant governor, “Palin sent an e-mail to the anti-abortion Alaska Right to Life Board saying she was as ‘pro-life as any candidate can be’ and has ‘adamantly supported our cause since I first understood, as a child, the atrocity of abortion.’”
and this in from LifeNews.com
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — In a decision that’s sure to unite the pro-life advocates behind his campaign, presidential candidate John McCain selected pro-life champion Sarah Palin as his pick for vice president. Palin, the 44-year-old governor of Alaska, takes a strong pro-life position on both abortion and bioethics issues.
Hmmm, things are about to get interesting. But one thing bothers me a tad bit. Whose watching her baby?
Civil comments are welcome but be warned, I will get vicious if you talk insane. It will be spoken in love though, of course. And just to clear the air about the phrase, (out of your mind), Jesus made your mind and if you aren’t thinking like He made you to think, then you are out of your mind, easy enoug to understand.
I’m quite excited about the VP pick!! And I think maybe the baby is going along with her. In one of the videos I watched of her speaking today, she mentioned her children and then pointed to her youngest son who was being held by someone.

Unusual for a political candidate that is for certain! I was wondering who was taking care of her baby too!

I have heard from various sources that her extended family has been of great suppor to help take care of her children. And if/when she assumes the position of VP, her husband will be a “Mr. Mom”. I am all for her becoming VP, but am genuinely concerned about her youngest two children, the baby especially. Just seems to me that he should be her main focus, not serving the country as VP. It will be interesting to see how she will balance family and career. Otherwise, I really do think she can do great things for this country along with McCain. I was excitd to see a pro-life VP candidate!

Despite her energy and convictions – she is not my choice to lead this country as being one heart beat way from being president – granted she is a great poster child for a woman who LOOKS LIKE she can do it all but be president if called upon. Let’s give her another decade and some real time in the hot seat experience oF national politics and foreign affairs.
