Momma’s making disciples of all nations

How can a mother of many share the Gospel with the hurting of the world? How can she travel the world and care for her family at the same time? The internet of course. And as long as she is focused on God’s work it won’t interfere with her first and foremost calling as a wife and mother.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20  aka the great commission

Being part of any kind of social media can either be a drain on your precious time or it can open doors of ministry. It all depends on your motivation and focus. If you are focused on silly games, idle chit chat and gossip then your time will not be fruitful. But if you pray first and dedicate your time to Jesus to be used for His purposes it can be very fruitful. Sharing your testimony, praying for others and encouraging others are just some ways you can be a servant. Remember not to get carried away and lose track of your hands on ministry :) .

swine flu epidemic?

Well just when we thought it was safe to hang out in the park with birds, now this.

(CNN) — Mexican officials are asking citizens to avoid large crowds, refrain from kissing as a greeting and maintain a distance of at least 1.8 meters (six feet) from each other amid growing concern in the country and elsewhere over new cases of suspected and confirmed swine flu infection.

Several countries issued travel notices and tightened restrictions to brace against the virus the World Health Organization is calling “a public health emergency of international concern.”

By Sunday, 81 deaths had been deemed “likely linked” to a deadly new strain of the virus by health authorities in Mexico. Viral testing has confirmed 20 cases, said Dr. Jose A. Cordova Villalobos, Mexico’s health secretary. In the United States, the number of confirmed swine flu cases stood at 11.  read the rest of the story here

Guess where our president was last week? Yup, Mexico.

I really don’t think there is reason for panic, but there is reason to pray. For children, here, there, and everywhere. And there is no reason whatsoever to look sideways at someone because the speak spanish or eat tacos. I speak spanish and eat tacos. And there are more pig farms in the US than in Mexico. And there have been confirmed cases in Texas too, but that is no reason to shun Texans. Let’s keep this in perspective.

I hear from twitter

BreakingNews The White House will be holding a news conference on the swine flu epidemic at 12.30 p.m. EDT, BNO News confirms.

I would take this opportunity to stock your pantries if they aren’t already.

Where is the swine flu coming from? You would think maybe swine? Think again. Here is another point of view.
