homework and seasons

In between selling barnwood furniture, and going to amishville to buy horse shoes to get ready for the upcoming Mule Day parade, and just enjoying this beautiful TN weather I am studying the grand world of Kindle Publishing and working from my favorite home office, my front porch Smile. Spring has exploded here in the South and it is beautiful. We are way ahead of schedule and things are now blooming about 3-4 weeks earlier than usual. It has been an incredibly busy day, week, month, no, year so far and the rest of it looks to be busier. So sometimes it is good to just escape and sit on the front porch for a bit. It is quiet and peaceful at the moment, I can smell the freshly cut grass and hear the worship music playing inside. It is a lovely day to contemplate life.

Hubby prayed with a man in jail recently who is in a tough spot. Worse than being between a rock and a hard place. Torn by circumstances. Innocent and yet paying the price for another in order to protect his family. Laying his life down for a friend, actually family members. Knowing that Jesus is his only answer yet not even seeing how the creator of the universe can rescue him. As I pray for this man I contemplate all the needs, a friend with a dying child, another friend who recently lost a loved one, a widow I know who is so heartbroken she has fallen into a lifestyle of sin. I am contemplating all the rejoicing in my household with 2 daughters becoming engaged in the past week, and yet mourning for a son who has lost his way and is not here rejoicing with us. How does it all fit? It doesn’t this side of Heaven. It only fits in His grand scheme of things. It only fits when our focus is on Him. And even in that, half of the time we cannot possibly understand how He can fix it. But He can, and most often only He can. That is where our peace comes from, seeing that, recognizing it in the mist of contemplating, surrendering it all, daily.

praying for you my dear friends that Jesus is your peace, daily.

is there a storm that is stronger Jesus?

storm2-2012w

They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”  Mark 4:41

There is no such thing as a storm too big for Jesus, or one He does not know about. He creates them and always uses them for our ultimate good.

Hope is …

I lift up my eyes to the hills—
   where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
   the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
   he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
   will neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD watches over you—
   the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
   nor the moon by night.

The LORD will keep you from all harm—
   he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
   both now and forevermore.

~ Psalms 121 ~

Spring flowers that come early always remind me of the word “hope.” And hope reminds me of Jesus and how with Him everything is made better Smile .

For there is nothing hidden that will not be found out

cattree

For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.  ~ Luke 8:17

This is one of our little barn kitties, she doesn’t even have a name because she hangs out in the barn all the time. She isn’t very personable, but she sure is pretty. She has a very cute blue gray kitten that no ne even knew she had. She recently decided to move the kitten to what she thought was a safer spot, one of the nesting boxes in the hen house. Well she was found out. Then she moved it to the milking stall in the barn. She was found out again. Then she moved it here, a hollow spot in the tree outside my bedroom window. She looks almost like an owl sitting in a tree here. She finally moved it again. We keep trying to humor her and make her think that we don’t know she has a kitten hidden. But the truth is that just like every sneaky thing we think we are hiding, it is usually seen by someone, and always by the Lord.

gifts for the King of Kings

IMAG0071

All the kings of the earth sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart. Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift—articles of silver and gold, and robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules. ~ 2 Chronicles 9:23-24

If that is what they brought to an earthly king, how much more should we give everything to our Heavenly King?

Jesus hearts you!

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.     Romans 1:20

No big bang caused this Smile I love the creativity of our God.
