I will not leave you as orphans

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

John 14:18

Awhile back one of the neighbors called and said someone had just brought them a box of brand new hatched ducklings, apparently something had happened top their momma, but the neighbor didn’t have a way to take care of them and asked if we would take them. One of my daughters regularly hatches ducks and other farm birds in her incubator so she figured no problem. These looked like common mallards but were really little. Well this guy is the only one who survived and he is not a common mallard. We didn’t know until he got full grown that he was a wood duck. Isn’t he adorable? The Lord went through many channels to get him to us, and what appeared to be an orphan was more well cared for than most wild ducks. If Jesus could see a purpose for this little duck, then how much more does He have a purpose for your life?

bad company

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character”.

1 Corinthians 15:33

I just don’t even think I can add to that Smile

preparation

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.  2 Timothy 4:2

Just as we prepare for the coming of winter so should we be prepared for spiritual seasons. We see folks go through hard times a lot, the ones who survive are the ones who are already prepared with an active prayer life. Don’t put off till tomorrow what you need for survival today. Seek Him :)

I can do it!

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. ~ Philippians 4:13

We do have a tractor to move hay rolls but it does not lift to unload them, so we do it the old fashioned way, Raine Power. Pretty much any job can be accomplished with a willing crew and some “I can do it” mentality. Add in the power of Jesus and you can even call it fun. Sure was a pretty Fall day Smile

finding joy in a season

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens …..
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Wow, we have snow.

Living on a farm is a lot of fun, but also a lot of work, as I write there are bunch of folks, 2 tractors and a 4×4 truck trying to get hay to our horses. Horses get bored when it snows and they eat twice as much. And then some. So there is lots of extra work at times.

But in all seasons there is joy … if you look for it Smile Aren’t these the happiest looking snowmen you have ever seen?
