I spent a good part of my Saturday sitting in a mule drawn wagon (more on that in a bit here) with one of my granddaughters on my lap. She is a soft spoken little girl who doesn’t talk up a storm like some do. When she says something it us usually worth listening to, she will tell you the sweetest things, and she notices things most of us miss. Children are precious that way anyway, but it is even more fun when they are soft spoken, but you have to pay attention. You must pay attention or you will miss it, and it is valuable. Another thing I noticed yesterday was that there are so many things so close by that I have never noticed. We live in a county that was founded in 1807, over 200 years ago. There are some absolutely beautiful homes here that I have passed by hundreds of times but never noticed. Until yesterday.
I learned 2 really important things yesterday.
#1 to listen, I think listening, really listening, is a lost art, folks just don’t do it, and they miss a lot
#2 to stop, slow down and see the beauty and value of the things around you
and .. your thoughts?
