The last few Sundays we have been taking a picnic with us and going to the park afterwards. My girls pack up a meal, usually homemade chicken salad on homemade bread, and pasta salad or potato salad and maybe some cookies or banana bread. They put the cold stuff in a cooler with some iced tea, and then pack the rest in a basket with plates and utensils, cloth napkins and a table cloth. Our church meets at 3 pm so we have time afterwards to go to the local park. We all eat together and then the little ones and sometimes the bigger ones play on the playground equipment. It is a lot cheaper than going out and we can linger as long as we want.
Our family Sunday picnics are becoming a tradition that I hope last all summer. Family picnics work for me 
. Then we throw it all back in the basket and come home refreshed.
