Recently one of my daughters went to spend a couple days at my other daughter’s house, the married one. Whenever everyone is not here it seems like we miss them so much! When there are only4 or 5 or even 6 children in the house it seems empty. I guess that sounds funny to folks who think 5 is a crowd, but my table holds 12 and anything less than 10 seems empty. I have never been a big crowd person, and in fact Jim and moved from CA simply because we wanted to get away from the traffic ad crowds. So it isn’t just a social thing. I do not feel the need to be surrounded by a crowd. I just really love my family.
I was one of only 2 children, and never had any idea we would end up with 8 children. We just let god do hat He does best and finally came to the conclusion that He knows more than we do. I must admit it is fun, and every bit the blessing God’s word says it is. Also my wonderful son in law is very much part of our family. Recently he and Jim were discussing something serious on the phone and we all had to smile because we so appreciate what God has added to our family. It just keeps getting better. I challenge you to let the one created the universe create your family 🙂 .
Big family fun is what works for me this Wednesday 🙂 . What works for you this week?

We have two only children. My dd is 20 and tomorrow my son will be 11. This is how God created our family. After my dd I found that I couldn’t get pregnant again for a long while. After I did, we lost the baby after only 8 weeks. I have a feeling that we lost several more in and around those years but it was so early in the pregnancy that it was hard to tell. Then finally, five years after my miscarriage, I was pregnant with my son. He’s my miracle baby. I had the same issues with him as I did with the one I lost, but God held him and through a series of miracles, my son is healthier than most children.
With my dd gone off to college 1800 miles away our little table always seems empty. Next year I don’t even want to calculate how far away she’ll be when she is an exchange student in Russia for a semester, but our table will be just as empty. Now that she is home for the summer, our table is once again whole. And next week, the man who may become her husband will come to visit and our table will feel oddly full.
We have a small family but some day God will fill it with more blessings. Right now I am grateful that we have two of the most fabulous children God could have given us. Praise God!

I know what you mean Penny. I have 7 children on earth and 1 in heaven (miscarriage). Our oldest got married almost 2 years ago and it was “lonely” those first few months after she was gone.
