ascending to the mountain

There are many places in scripture that refer to worshipping on a mountain or going up to a mountain.

Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the LORD our God is holy. Psalm 99:9

Many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. Isaiah  2:3

And you will sing as on the night you celebrate a holy festival; your hearts will rejoice as when people go up with flutes to the mountain of the LORD, to the Rock of Israel. Isaiah 30:29

After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray. Mark 6:46

Moses met with God on a mountain, Abraham went to sacrifice on a mountain and Jesus revealed His Holiness on a mountain. All of this denotes an uphill climb. Our walk with the Lord is not a leisurely Sunday stroll. It is a climb. It is sometimes strenuous while at the same time restful but never lazy. There are no stopping places or plateaus. When you are climbing up a mountain and you stop going up, you start to roll down. That is what backsliding is. Not necessarily indulging in some awful disgusting sin, but simply not going forward.

Our rest is to be with Jesus not from Jesus. When the going gets tough, go up!

parenting doesn’t have to be expensive

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

You know it is really sad that many folks think they can’t afford big families. I think we realistically live off of less income than your average 2 child family. honestly, and we live on a farm. We use what the Lord has given us and try to use it wisely. I have a friends that says God will not give you the income you need to raise 5 children unless you are willing to raise 5 children, and rarely will He give it to you until you have 5 children. Even if you don’t live on a farm and have wonderful fresh milk as a supplement for your growing baby there are still ways around expensive formula. of course breast milk is best but often it is nice to have something extra. There are many reasons why it might be needed. We all know how ridiculously expensive baby formula can be, but it doesn’t have to be. Take a look at this Parents Choice Formula Finder and see what type of formula might be your best choice. Then take a look at this Savings Calculator and see how much you can save. The ones I compared showed a savings of over $634 a year! Now of course that is if you fed formula often, but still, what a savings! Hmm, what could a parent do with $634? You could probably cover all those reasons you keep using why not to have another baby. Children are a blessing and they don’t have to be expensive.
