Home … what a nice sounding word
There is a lot more to a home that just a house. And home doesn’t usually seem too homey if no one is ever there. I try to plan all my trips to town for once a week, and when you live in the country it really is a trip to town. I love the stability and security it gives my family. They know what time supper is at night and they know who is going to be there, all of us. Way too many children these days are missing that, the security that home is supposed to bring. So that is what works for me this Wednesday, how about you?

Amen! I wish I could only “go to town” once a week. I do my best!

Penny ~ I share your passion and heart for home & hearth. I could have written the same words. We live in the “boonies” too… so trips to town are once per week, and the rest of the time is spent working & playing at home. I wouldn’t want it any other way!
We love the family meal table — I grew up with it and I believe it gave me a great sense of stability in my life growing up. I am so saddened that so many children today are growing up without that.
Keep on keepin’ on in Christ,
gloria

Your blog is a treasure! We live in the country on a small farm too, and I feel the same way! Praise God that He has allowed us this grace the past 26 years. Raising my family here has given them strong roots. God bless our country homes!

Your home looks so cozy and inviting. Ha I can’t even imagine not having a million errands a week. What a nice daydream you’ve given me.
