local talk in small towns

autumn-on-the-farmI love living in a small town. We actually live outside the city limits in the country, but we have a small town (population 3000) we claim to be part of because that is what our address says :) . I went to town today to get a couple items I needed for the restoration project we are tackling, we got a beautiful antique wood cook stove we are working on. More about that with pictures on Tuesday.  But while I was in town I heard that since there are so many folks without jobs this year that everyone is turning to wood heat, the hardware guy said that they can’t keep stove pipes in stock. We have used wood heat for nearly 20 years so we are pretty much always set, but I am going to take things a little more serious after hearing that. Funny, even in these days of  social media the local country store is still the nest place to find out what is going on.
