October fun

Well today is only the 3rd but things sure have been fall busy here already. Anytime I am MIA from my blog I am either busy with family stuff or writing. This time it has been lots of family stuff. Thursday we worked hay again, boy is that tiring. We have to wait for 5 or so good warm dry days. Then we have to cut it, tedder it if it needs it, rake it and then bale it, all that is the easy part, but it isn’t easy. Then we have to use manual labor (our muscles) to load it and stack it on big hay wagons then take it to the barn and unload and stack it in the barn. It gets tiring to say the least. Thursday we did about 250 bales but the wagons are still parked in the barn waiting to be unloaded.

Friday we took a breather.

Today we did something much more fun. We headed off to Goodwill for a 50% off sale. Got plenty of Wranglers for the guys for $3 each and some good winter insulated coveralls and a couple neat antiques. And some lace up roper cowboy boots. And a down comforter $4. Actually we ended up at two different Goodwills and a church yard sale, and Tractor Supply clearance corner where I got a $25 windmill for $3. No old singer sewing machines today, but one of my girls got a quilt stand and an antique quilt. I am not a big shopping person but finding treasures with my daughters today was lots of fun. They said it was better than the mall any day :) . I must agree.

I am looking forward to the two Road to Avonlea DVD’s from  Netflix this evening.
