home cooking works for me

WFMW

We went to eat somewhere recently and realized it was hard to decide where to go. It wasn’t that we didn’t have any choices. It wasn’t that there was no where with good food. The problem is that there are few and far between places that have better food than our home cookin.

We switched up the menu tonight and had homemade pizza and it is better than any we could have gotten elsewhere. We used homemade dough to make the crust and most of the toppings including the ingredients for the sauce came from our garden.

Once you get used to cooking at home it really isn’t hard or even too time consuming. It takes a little pre-planning, but a good menu plan can solve that. Start out simple and add a new recipe or dish every week. Before you know it everything will be made from scratch and healthier and better tasting too. When your hubby offers to take you out to eat he will have a hard time finding a place with better food that what comes from his own kitchen.

So, what works for me this Wednesday? Homemade cooking :) .

  • This is so true, Penny! It seems like whenever my husband and I go out to eat, which isn’t often, we almost always leave feeling a little dissatisfied. My husband often comments how far I’ve come as a cook.

  • We rarely go out to eat but we usually like to order things I don’t make or we can’t afford to buy on a regular basis. I love crab but would never make it myself.

The other day was my birthday and, for my gift, my dh made me dinner and did the dishes. It was a special meal I usually make him for his birthday. Been doing it for many years now. It’s Seafood Medley. Homemade Seafood Medley is better than anything we get when we go out!

By the way, he even did the dishes!!

  • I think you are right on the money!
Cooking from home is like nothing you can buy anywhere else!
My kids are so funny about eating out and at other’s homes.
They like it…but always say…”Mama, you are the best cook!”.
