The same ole question, why do you blog? There is only success in the things that have your heart. Consider that for a moment. Do you blog to make a buck? Do you blog to teach a trade? Do you blog to further a cause? Do you blog to promote a position or candidate? Do you blog as a means of communication? If you don’t know why you blog then you need to stop blogging while you pray about a purpose and a vision. God’s word says that His people perish without a vision, a plan, a purpose. So before you write another word, seek that purpose.
In case you haven’t heard me say it before, I blog because I have something to say. From my mission statement page
I have a purpose in blogging. I blog because I have something to say and I hope you will listen. I have a message with a purpose. My message? You are loved! Not as in a shallow “Jesus loves you”. But more as a
Jesus gave His very Life for you.
My purpose is to make that real in your life. To impart to you the understanding of that love. Think about it, who have you loved in your life more than any other person? His love for you is so much more than we can even understand. He knows your heart. He cries when you cry and rejoices when you rejoice.
It is my goal that you feel that love throughout my writings.
If you don’t already have one I suggest that you write and post your mission statement.
Now that you know my purpose and agenda, you know that it is something I am passionate about. I am also passionate about encouraging others to love their chidren and families, but you can’t get that till you get number 1. When you have something you are passionate about you want to share it with others, and blogging is a perfect platform. IF somebody is reading.
Obtaining blogging traffic is like starting a snowball. It is work to get it moving but once you do it tends to take on a life of it’s own and moves fast. John Chow probably does not work very hard at getting traffic. But at one time he did. If you are still in the building process one of the best ways is to get your name out on other blogs. If you have something worth reading, and you will if your heart is in it, then folks will tell other folks.
I have a very good opportunity for some of you here to showcase some of your best posts, get in front of interested readers and get some links shared all at the same time. I rarely jump on a bandwagon and this is no exception. I have been reading Robert Hruzek’s Middle Zone Musings, and find it to be worth reading. He has something going on in Januaury that I am going to get involved with and thought y’all might be interested to. His big announcement will be in a couple weeks, so you can stay tuned or take a look at his blog and tell him I sent ya!

Great way to make it clear, Penny! There really is no point until you know what you want to say. And, may I add, how to say it.
Hey, thanks for the nod, Penny!
