This was hibernating in the firewood. We split a log and out he fell. Eeeeks! It was actually much smaller than this looks like, I zoomed in. Does anybody know what kind of snake this was? I say was because after we woke him up,  he was MAD!  

This year has been the best harvest ever. We found fruit and nut trees we didn’t even know we had. These are hickory nuts and they taste incredible.

This is an antique pot belly cookstove. An Atlanta Stove Works Whopper #205 . My oldest daughter found it a yard sale and bought it for $10 for me. I feel loved   very loved. Anybody know anything about this model?

After we though the garden was nearly done and had even let the horses in part of it, these were a big surprise, more egglants! Nobody knew they were still growing out there. We went out to get some last minute peppers and brought these in too!

I love living in the country   except for maybe the snakes.
