Ike is not making us laugh- gas shortage panic

As I shared, a couple weeks ago, Ike is short for Isaac, and Isaac means “laughter”. Well around here folks are not laughing. Cars are lined up at gas stations worse than if an ice storm were predicted. Gas has gone up nearly a dollar a gallon since yesterday. We are in mid TN, hundreds of miles from Galveston TX but looking at the CNN page makes me want all of my youngins at home.  Time to pray.

2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

anybody driven past a gas station today? prepare to die

In our county is has gone up 90 cents a gallon, since last night. I give, I’m gonna cry.  :cry:

Frugal Friday- have a plan

One of the reasons we re able to stay within our grocery budget is because we live 15 long miles from Walmart. Oh what agony for the type of person who loves to “run to the store”. But I don’t so it is just fine with me. So when I do go to town my trips are well planned. I not only have a shopping list but I have the competitors ads, and I have a plan, a list of errands in geographically productive order, and I have taken inventory. Now inventory would be so much easier if there were only one cook here, but there are several. So I appoint the oldest daughter at home to be the kitchen manager. Inventory is her job. She is in charge of telling me what is needed, what we can’t live without and what would be nice. I also have another daughter that is bathroom manager, she keeps me informed about soaps, shampoos, and toilet paper needs. Because somethings you cannot do without. Also on my list are approx prices. I have it very well planned. So my Frugal Friday tip is to never leave the house without a plan.
