vHow can we lay a welcome mat of love for our husbands after a long day of hard work?
v How can we make our homes inviting places where Daddy longs to be at the end of a long day?
v How can we involve our children in this process and teach them to show reverence to their Daddy?
At the Raine house things are not nice normal hours. Hubby is a minister (actually we are a ministry family) which means odd hours and lots and lots of them, but it also means a lot of it is with us. So he doesn’t come home every evening at a regular time. In fact some days he doesn’t go anywhere, and then some nights he is preaching at the county jail or the prison until 10 pm. So the key around here is not to make our home pleasant to come home to but rather to make is pleasant to LIVE in. We do our best to plan our schedule around ministry commitments, but things arise unexpectedly often. So we acommodate the phone calls and such. And most often we all minister together. So the key around here is PEACE. We strive to all be in the same place at the same time for at least two events a day. Our morning meeting and supper time. More on that later.
Proverbs 17:1
Better a dry crust with peace and quiet
than a house full of feasting, with strife.

Great post! With Steve and I both working outside the home, we live your quote:
So the key around here is not to make our home pleasant to come home to but rather to make is pleasant to LIVE in.

Sooooo true!!!! Peace! That’s what matters!! And I like how you said the focus is making home a pleasant place to live in not just to come home too.
Great reminders
