Part of our homeschool teaching is business. I teach them how to start and run a small business. If you don’t lern how to run a business then someone elses business will run you. Thought you might like to listen in today. Have you been thinking of starting a small business, one in your home, or maybe somewhere else? We have had our fair share of small businesses and we are usually cash anad carry type of folks, but I will tell you if I had it to do over gain I would probably get a loan. Unless I had a good amount of working capital to start with. trying to build a business is hard enough without finacial worries. If it is a brick and mortar type business with inventory of any type you have to have something to start with. And then there is advertising, promotions and such. And all that is if there weren’t such things as rent, utilities and such. Even with a home business that sells online there are operating espenses, unless it is all digital goods such as e-books and audio files. If all you want is a home hobby that makes a little extra cash then you are probably alright but if you are really wanting to grow a business you need to get serious and probably get one of the many  sba loans. It is said that most small businesses fail in the first year, and the ones that survive don’t make a profit for the first 2 years. So the ones failing did so because they didn’t plan well.
