I am wearing… peach t-shirt andthe same comfy navy loose capris, bare feet
I am reading… have several things to read this morning but hadn’t started yet
I am hoping… that it rains more this week
I am hearing… almost nothing, it is unusually quiet here
I am creating… a legacy with my family
Around the house… some are atill doing chores, hubby and Georgia are still praying
One of my favorite things… my family, my life, my Savior

Menu Plan Monday

Well, you know what we have here this week? Apples, apples, apples, and boy can my girls cook, there are few things that smell better than cooking applesauce! But they are using it with breakfast every morning so it won’t affect suppers much, and that is what I ususally post here. Now just so you know, we have GREAT breakfasts around here.  So lets see what do we have here for our Menu plan Monday.

Monday- cheeseburger casserole

Tuesday- chicken gumbo

Wednesday- baked potatoes with beef gravy topping

Thursday- jalepeno chicken and rice

Friday- more eggplant parmesan if they are ready

We still have lots of peppers and tomatoes and okra in the garden so things are yummy here!

I am working on posting my recipes on one of my new blogs I am working on,  Bless-the-cook.com it isn’t pretty yet but will be functioning soon.

At The Well- worship

This weeks topic is worship, and is hosted by LauraLee, here are her questions:

A “Call to Worship” is usually at the beginning of a church service to prepare hearts and minds for worship together. What do you do or think you should do at the start of each day to prepare your heart and mind as a woman living a life of worship?

If you were to gather at the well with women younger than you in the faith, what would your call to worship be for them?

If your life, worship-wise, could be defined or with a song, which one would it be (or which one would you wish it to be)?

Hmmm, how do I start my day with an attitude of worship? Well it starts way before daybreak. I have this habit of praying everytime I wake up. all night long, and actually before I go to sleep. With lots of children and a busy household, I am often the last one up and that is when the house is quiet. It can get pretty loud around here  . But after everyone goes to bed it gets quiet. And i spend more time listening then talking when I pray. So I like it quiet sometimes. Some nights like last night, it seems like I wake up often so I use those times as an opportunity to pray more.  and often when I wake up in the morning I will stay in bed a little longer and pray more. So when I start my day it is often after hours of prayer.

Here in the South we have saying, it is a question that is said more like a question, but doesn’y really expect an answer. I like it. When one approaches another they often say, ”watcha know good?”. I love it because it doesn’t give room for complaining. I often use that same type of phrase but usually word it more like, “so what good things has the Lord been showing you?” It opens the door to speaking good of Him, which always leads to worship.

Worship songs, well my children are  by far my favorite worship leaders. They sing prophetic songs to the Lord. the oldest two lead worship at our church. I think one of my favorites, is a song my daughter wrote entitled “Love That Chases”, about the love of the Lord, most folks don’t have a clue how much God loves them. Here are the lyrics, and you can hear it here lovechases.mp3. This recording as actually her singing it at a friend’s funeral. It was his favorite, he had a revelation of the Father’s love.

Love That Chases

VERSE1

WHEN THE SUN SETS AND WHEN IT WILL RISE YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE MY SIDE

WHEN MY SKIES ARE BLUE OR EVEN IF THEY’RE GRAY I KNOW YOU’RE HERE TO STAY

THROUGH THE PAIN AND THE TEARS THROUGH THE LOVE AND THE JOY

 YOU ARE STILL HERE

WHEN I LAUGH OR WHEN I CRY WHEN I LIVE OR FEEL LIKE I DIE

 YOU ARE HERE FOR ME

 CHORUS

I CAN’T GET AWAY FROM THIS LOVE, THIS LOVE THAT CHASES ME

I CAN’T GET AWAY FROM THIS LOVE, THIS KIND OF LOVE THAT SETS ME FREE

 VERSE2

YOUR PEACE SURROUNDS ME YOUR GRACE ABOUNDS IN ME YOUR LOVE FLOWS OVER ME

YOUR KISSES FLOOD MY FACE WHILE YOU DANCE ME WITH SUCH GRACE JUST SWEEP ME UP IN YOUR ARMS

YOU GRAB HOLD OF MY HANDS YOU SPIN ME IN THIS DANCE YOU NEVER LET ME GO

YOU HAVE A GRIP UPON MY HEART YOU’VE SEALED IT WITH LOVE YOUR EYES DANCE UPON ME LIKE A DOVE

Making my home a Haven

I am sooo glad that Crystal Paine over at BiblicalWomanhood.com has decided to continue this meme, it is one of my favorites! What am I doing today to make my home a haven? I am making a honey-do list and posting it on the fridge. And everyone in this house is my honey so it isn’t necessarily for hubby. We always have projects going around here, that is one things homeschoolers especially are good at. But anyway, sometimes that sidetracks folks here from getting their own things finished. I am constantly repeating myself with the same reminders. so to save my sanity, and my voice I am going to start writing it down and posting it. Then no one can say they didn’t know  and when they finish one task they can look to see if they have another. And I think I will post a job board also of extra jobs here needing done and what I will give to the one who does it. I have a large crew here.
