This book was recommeded by a friend, Crystal Paine. I finally got around to ordering it and it arrived today. I will have to give a review after I read through it but so far it looks ver promising. The sub-title is “Understanding the Information Reformation That’s Changing your World”.
The younger crowds use myspace and let me tell you that is an eye-opener. Anything that grows and affects a culture that fast is worth taking note of and is a sign that something bigger is happening. The bigger picture is blogging in general. It is the new platform of today. It is an uncensored way to voice your opinions, further your agenda and advertise a product. It can cover anything from pushing a candidate to selling aprons, and everything in between. In case you don’t already know what my agenda is you can read about it here MY AGENDA.
I only know a small amount about blogging but I am jumping on the bandwagon and learning more everyday. My Dad who was an entrepreneur and a marketing genius always had his stable business base with various avenues branching out, he knew that you had to follow the market, but be able to do it without risking everything. He was very very smart. Although I miss him terribly I know his wisdom came from the Lord so it is available for me too.
If you don’t want to wait on my review but want to see the book now, here is a link
| Blog: Understanding The Information Reformation That’s Changing Your World
By Hugh Hewitt / Thomas Nelson “Blog” is short for “Web log” – an online site with time-dated postings, maintained by one or more posters, that features links and commentary. But that is like saying a car is a means of transportation featuring four wheels. Millions are changing their habits when it comes to information acquisition, and the blogosphere has appeared so suddenly as to surprise even the most sophisticated of analysts. In Blog, best-selling author Hugh Hewitt helps you catch up with and get ahead of this phenomenon.Up until now no influential blogger has written a definitive book about this phenomenon. Since Hugh Hewitt’s blog site was launched in early 2002, more than 10 million people have visited this site. Why does this visitor traffic matter? People’s attentions are up for grabs. If you depend upon the steady trust of others, suddenly you have an audience waiting to hear from you. The race is underway, though, to gain mindspace and to be part of the blogosphere readers’ habits and to position yourself as well as your business or organization at the forefront of this information movement. |
